Stunning engine Dave. What a monster.  700 bhp!  Wow.  What short of torque do they develop?

Sorry for the delay! Just found the dyno sheets. At 1 bar boost this engine gave 462 lbft of torque. I'm not sure what it would have given at 1.4 bar!

Do you know what, I can't remember what this one gave! I will have a look at the dyno sheets next week and find out.

750 bhp!!!!! Amazing. How long do those engines last before needing a rebuild!

Good question! To be truthful I've really no idea, as I wasn't around when these things were being raced! I guess it would vary depending on whether it was used for endurance or sprint races. Would be interesting to know though. One thing's for certain, these two are very unlikely to ever get timed out now!

Now that's what I call an engine. The 935 flatnose always looked beautiful to me. What's the spec of the engine Dave?

Hi Pete. This is similar to the other one, 3.2 litre with twin K27 turbochargers. The main difference is that we fitted this one with a modern engine management system. When it was mapped on the dyno it gave 600 bhp at just 1 bar boost pressure. It should be good for 1.4 bar, which I would guess should give 700 to 750 bhp, but as it's not likely to be raced the owner chose not to go beyond 1 bar, so we'll never really know. Given the car weighs just under 1000kg it should go quite well anyway!!!
