It looks good in the car too! The weight of those turbos hanging off the back of the engine give the engine building stand a run for its money though. I'm sure I heard it give a sigh of relief when I took the engine off it!

Thanks for your kind words. Although I've built countless Porsche road car engines over the years, it was a massive learning curve when I got lucky enough to start building these amazing engines. I'm lucky that there are a few people out there who are prepared to pass on their knowledge so that these cars can still be seen running, hopefully for many years to come. It would be such a shame if they just become museum exhibits in the future!

That truely is a work of art. You often see te 935 but never the engine - There's a few pics I saw here: www.p101tv.com/view-image/498/porsche-935. What a monster at 750bhp. Now we know they look good on the outside and the inside. What mods are made to the bottom end over a stock 3.2 to coope with all that power?

The crankcase is basically a modified stock Turbo item (the SC case is essentially the same but with smaller oil splash valves), along with the crankshaft. They have modified oil pumps and titanium rods, but it does demonstrate how strong the basic 911 engine is!

What an amazing looking engine. Why is the cooling fan upright like that as apposed to the horrizontal configuration of the street 911's? That's an amazing amount of power for the engine. Is it all turbo?

Hello there. Porsche used this type of fan for a lot of their race engines. I think it was probably because it gave a more even cooling effect over all 6 cylinders. It has twin K27 turbos. It can run 1.4 bar boost, hence the high power available. The last one I built gave 600 bhp at just 1 bar boost, but as it is not being raced it was decided not to take it any higher!

Hi Pete. 3.2 litre version, should be good for 700 to 750bhp. It is running now, and hope to get on the dyno soon!
