  • So what  do I do in this winter.

Before seison stoped I tested my 3.0SC on the road, it went realy ok but somthing was not right.

I found out that a sparkplug was burned and so I exchanged them with new ones
but it did nothing. I took a compression test, cyllinder 2 had no compression and No. 5 was ok but not good. So time to separate the engine to pieces.
The valveguides were totally worn out, so the cylinder heads is sent to the renovation.
Meanwhile I had time to look at the rest, a broken head bolt did that I would swap all of them out with Race Wear bolts.
On a shelf, I have a couple 40mm Zenith Carburettors standing and yes they must be fitted with pistons from JE with 10,5:1 compression and S modified camshafts.
All this should give the motor 240 hp against its standard 188 hp.
Cylinder heads air intake had already been honed to 39 mm.
If everything goes right I will be able to use it in my Martini Bird in April.

    Pictures will come.

That sounds like a great project Brian. Apart from drinking the fuel, she will be a lovely engine. Very responsive and give a great sound!
