Before seison stoped I tested my 3.0SC on the road, it went realy ok but somthing was not right.
Ifound out thata sparkplugwasburnedand soI exchangedthemwith new ones but it didnothing.I tookacompressiontest,cyllinder2 hadnocompressionand No.5was okbutnot good. So time to separatethe engineto pieces. The valveguidesweretotallyworn out,sothe cylinder heads is sent to therenovation.
MeanwhileI hadtime tolookat the rest, a brokenheadbolt did that Iwouldswap all of themoutwithRaceWearbolts. On ashelf, I have acouple40mmZenithCarburettorsstandingandyes theymustbe fittedwithpistonsfrom JEwith10,5:1compressionand S modifiedcamshafts. All thisshould givethe motor240 hpagainstits standard188hp. Cylinder headsairintakehadalreadybeenhonedto 39mm. If everything goesrightI willbe abletouse it inmyMartiniBirdin April.
