At long last summer has arrived. The sun is out, the temperatures on on the up and Porsches everywhere are emerging for a few months of summer fun. We are continuing to develop Channel P101tv and should a few new features being launched in the not too distant future. Watch this space! This month's "Porsche on the Cover" is Paul Isaacs's beautiful, and quite rare, Porsche 911 Targa Supersport. Head over and take a look at his blue Supersport. A Turbo body and suspension with the 3.2 Carrera engine is a great combination.


Porsche Dominated The Targa Florio

Everyone has heard of the Targa Florio. It was an open road endurance race held in the mountains of Sicily near Palermo. Founded in 1906, it was the oldest sports car racing event, part of the World Sportscar Championship between 1955 and 1973. While the first races consisted of a complete tour of the island, the track length in the race's last years was limited to the 72 kilometres (45 miles) of the Circuito Piccolo delle Madonie, which was lapped 11 times. Porsche pretty much dominated the Targa Florio with 11 wins in 17 years. Amazing!


The Rain Didn't Stop Porsches on Track

Channel P101tv member MarkJ braved the rainy March weather in the UK, along with many other Porsche enthusiasts for a track day at Outlon Park. There were some great Porsches to be seen including Mark's own 3.2 Carerra CS, some 964's, 993's, 997's 996's and more!


50 Years at the Top

Porsche has always been closely associated with motorsport. Porsche's reputation on the street has been built on it's success on track. After 50 years, Porsche is still going strong and has racked up countless race victories. Izzy has uploaded a fantastic commemorative video of Porsches 50 years in motorsport.


The Porsche 911 is 50 Years Old

50 years ago Porsche launched it's 911 concept. Between then and now, this awesome machine has set standards, written history and thrilled generations of Sports Car fans. Throughout this year there will be events celebrating the 911 world over. Make sure you get something in your diary to ensure you take part in the fun. It's not going to come round again anytime soon. Goodwood are doing a super car Sunday on 2nd June and specially themed for the 911.


Why Porsches Proudly Wear The Name "Carrera"

Many of todays Porsches are denoted as 'Carrera'. We take it for granted these days that there will be a model of Porsche which has the Name Carrera somewhere in the model name. But how and why did Porsche start using the Carrera name.
