Silence is Golden

It's been some time since our last newsletter. But, there's been lot's going on quietly in the background to improve the quality of the web site as well as developing new services, tools and features for the Porsche enthusiast's enjoyment! Read on to find out what we've been up to.......

Our Newsletter has Changed

The first thing you'll notice is our newly designed P101tv Newsletters. An upgrade from our old text based design, our newsletters will now benefit from a clearer layout, graphics and useful navigation links. All newsletters will be stored in our online archive, so looking up old newsletters will now be possible. Visit the Newsletter Home Page by clicking in the menu above or clicking here.

It's All In The Footer

When you get to the bottom of a web site page there's typically not much to de except go back to the top. We've changed P101tv's main web site Footer Design to make being at the bottom more interesting. In the new footer design you'll now find useful links to videos, pictures, information, articles, guides, tools and resources. Next time you at the bottom take a look - you just might find something interesting!

Porsche Options & Codes

There are many codes associated with your Porsche. There are paint codes, option codes, part numbers, Vehicle Identity Numbers (VIN's), engine numbers, country codes and more. This new section of Channel P101tv is all about decoding the meaning of the various codes and option numbers. Understanding these codes and options can be an important part in establishing the correct credentials for your Porsche. It will also be particularly useful when buying a used Porsche by piecing together it's true identity when it left the factory.

Porsche Insurance

Fuchs Decoder

We have created a database of the various Porsche Fuchs wheels, including part numbers, offsets, sizes, and original finish etc. If you are trying to establish which Fuchs wheels you have then the Channel P101tv Fuchs decoder should be able to help.

Porsche Articles

Porsche Folio is a place to find everything you need to know about all things Porsche. From the history of the cars, specifications, performance figures to finding clubs, forums, parts and spares providers, service centers and much more. Now we've added the Porsche Reader's Corner. Here we will write a series of useful articles and guides for Porsche owners and enthusiasts. The Reader's corner will be constantly updated to include more and more articles and guides. If there's something you'd like to write about then let us know. We'd be happy to publish your articles. We'd of course give you full credit.

Fuchs Authenticity

The Fuchs alloy wheels have been synonymous with the classic 911 right up to 1989. With production of the traditional Fuchs wheels now at an end, the second hand market is thriving and a good original set of Fuchs can set you back a small fortune. With the availability of good Fuchs limited and demand high, there are a number of after market suppliers of imitation wheels and it is all too easy to buy a set of 'imitations' when you think your buying originals.

Do you need to Restore your Old Porsche 917?

It's a common problem. You've had a Porsche 917 sitting in your barn for the last twenty years but your not quite sure how to go about restoring it. Well, help is at hand. Our friends over at Gunnar Racing have uploaded a comprehensive series of videos of their own Porsche 917 restoration. It truly is a fantastic project.

Is it Real?

One of our members, PorscheBulgaria, has been busy uploading pictures and videos of his fantastic collection of scale Porsche models. Not only does he have a great collection of models, he also has a real talent for creating pseudo reality photographs of them. Setting his collection against beautiful backdrops, it leaves you asking the question: "Are these actually real Porsches?"

And finally......Did you Know?

Do you know that any of your pictures uploaded to your Channel P101tv account can be shown on other web sites and forums without having to re-upload them each time. Next to each picture on P101tv is an "Embed Code". You just simply copy that code to use in forums and bogs.

We have a growing help section on P101tv to help you make the most of the web site. It's constantly growing so check it often
