This months "Porsche on the Cover" is Brian911s Beautiful Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera 'MartiniBird'. Looking fabulous in its Martini Decals and RUF Speedlines.
Channel P101tv is getting larger by the minute with new members joining and sharing their Porsche videos and pictures and enjoying social chat. The Wall is here to help you keep up to date with the latest activity and saves Channel P101tv users from searching through the thousands of website pages and discussion threads to find what they are looking for.
Alois RUF has been linked with Porsche since the 356, and ever since the RUF performance house has continued to make hyper cars based on Porsche Chassis. The most famous is probably the RUF CTR1 or "Yellowbird" as it was affectionately named by the press. The CTR1 was based on the 3.2 Carrera and made automotive history when it smashed through the 200mph speed barrier back in 1987. Check out this four part videos series on the history of RUF.
Porsche has always designed their cars with an expectation of everyday use from their owners. There is no need to store your Porsche away for the bad weather months. Now with Porsche winter tyres designed for increased cold weather performance, included better safety in bad conditions, you can now enjoy your Porsche all year round.
The garage is just for overnight, and not over winter storage.
Our very own MarkJ is living the dream in his beautiful Porsche 911 3.2 CS. He's just returned from a road trip in his Porsche to the Dordogne. Judging by the pictures, both Mark and his Porsche had a great time. This is what it's all about: Driving our Porsches far and wide as Mr Porsche intended. Great inspiration Mark. These Porsches really are 'Go Cars' and not 'Show cars'!
We all know Porsches are built for speed. Well, so is Channel P101tv. We've been quietly working away in the background tweaking the engineering that runs the P101tv website. Things have been much improved meaning that pages of the website will load more quickly. For those of you that are inetersted, here's the science bit. We measured our site performance using the independent benchmarking of YSLOW and we were graded as a "C" (Which is about average). After tweaking the technical bits and building a content delivery network, our benchmark rating has risen to an "A". So, you can now enjoy Channel P101tv almost as fast as you can drive your Porsche!
P101tv accepts a wide range of popular video formats. The accepted video files are WMV, MPG, MPEG, AVI, MP4, FLV, MOV, MOOV and many more video files. P101tv will automatically adjust your video for display and playing over the internet. It might save you time though if you resize your videos before you upload. This will reduce upload times considerably. For a good balance of file size and video quality for playback we recommend 480p, 854 x 480 pixels.
We have a growing help section on P101tv to help you make the most of the web site. It's constantly growing so check it from time-to-time
